Horse racing, as a deep-rooted part of Hong Kong’s culture, takes center stage from August 16 to 29 at Tai Kwun’s Prison Yard. The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) will honour three hero racehorses at Tai Kwun’s Prison Yard, transforming the historic site into a whimsical stable of giant horses. From there, Hero Horses on Tour will journey across Hong Kong, pausing at stunning locations around the city. Bringing the thrill of the racetrack into the heart of the city and beyond, this captivating public installation invites locals and tourists alike to explore the world of horse racing. It’s also a delightful treat for racing fans, stoking passion for the upcoming 2025/26 season.
Starring three of Hong Kong’s celebrated champions, Ka Ying Rising, Romantic Warrior, and Voyage Bubble, the 3D sculptures reimagine these equine icons in adorable style - standing at over two meters tall! Dressed in their signature racing silks, these enormous loveable friends deliver charm wherever they go, symbolising the city’s affection for horse racing with matching heart emblems. Visitors are invited to have an up close encounter with their racing heroes - perfect for snapping memorable photos. Fun for all ages, family and friends are encouraged to unleash their creativity while capturing the moment. The activation also offers fans a chance to receive a HK$50 Shatin Racecourse Catering coupon, available on a first-come, first-served basis, along with free admission to the Public Enclosures of the Racecourses, subject to terms and conditions.
Meet the Hero Horses
These three victors have defined an extraordinary 2024/25 racing season, their achievements are nothing short of historic:
Ka Ying Rising, the 2024/25 Horse of the Year, has dazzled the racing world with 12 consecutive wins and a clean sweep of the Hong Kong Speed Series 2024/25. Dubbed “The World’s Best Sprinter,” this unbeaten superstar set a track record at Sha Tin as the 1200m turf record holder, marking a flawless season.
Romantic Warrior, the 2023/24 Horse of the Year, stands as “Our Global Champion,” being the world’s highest-earning racehorse. He triumphed with 10 Group 1 wins across four racing jurisdictions and is a three-time LONGINES Hong Kong Cup Champion (2022–2024), showcasing his elite consistency on the international stage.
Voyage Bubble, known as the “Triple Crown Champion,” became one of the two horses in Hong Kong’s history to secure the prestigious Triple Crown during the 2024/25 season. His victories include the 2024 LONGINES Hong Kong Mile and the 2023 BMW Hong Kong Derby, underscoring his versatility and dominance across distances.

By combining immersive digital and physical experiences, and with the support of engaging figures including influential racing fans, jockeys, and trainers, the Club aims to generate unbridled enthusiasm, building momentum leading up to the Season Opening on September 7, and maintaining the same energy far into the future.
